National Association of REALTORS®

May is an important month for National Association of REALTORS®, with U.S. Realtors and International Realtors guests meet in Washington DC to meet with legislators on Capitol Hill and advocate for fair home ownership laws, find solutions for reducing the home ownership gap, housing units deficit ( which now stands at about 6 million units), and sustainable practices. The home ownership process includes all real estate industry stakeholders and the communication between the real estate practitioners and government is of utmost importance in order to build smart cities with happy citizens and homeowners.

At NAR Global sessions we welcome international guests from real estate associations and governments, exchanging information and learning from each other practices and experience.

We were honored to have Honorable Dr. Freda Prempeh, Ghana Minister of State for Housing addressing our Global Business Alliances committee session and giving us an update on Ghana’s housing market and legislation. Ghana successfully reduced its housing deficit from 2.8 million to 1.8 million and continues to find sustainable ways to build more housing, especially entry level and first time buyers housing and attract more developers and home buyers in the rural and suburban areas, in an effort to create more socio- economic opportunities areas outside Accra.
